The Screeners Club is a new, twice-monthly independent movie series offering moviemakers an immediate venue at which to screen their work. Submissions are open and ongoing and all genres and lengths are considered, though the format is relegated to video. Currently, screenings take place in the casual, lounge environment of Level X on North 6th Street, off of Bedford Avenue in the heart of Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Participants can feel comfortable showing a wide range of work from documentaries and fictional shorts, to music videos and experimental pieces. As an added benefit, the twice monthly series will be judged by a diverse panel of representatives from the entertainment industry, culminating each month with an award for "Screeners Club Movie of the Month." This offers those involved exposure they might not otherwise be able to get, as well as a springboard to the larger film festival experience.

What makes the Screeners Club so attractive to independent moviemakers is its accessibility. Because it is an ongoing series, it fosters a community where participants have an open venue for their work and can view the work of their peers. It's also an opportunity to meet fellow moviemakers in a social situation, as well as members of other artistic communities which are abundant in Williamsburg. For the broader community, the Screeners Club offers viewers an exciting look at the independent work being created locally.

Additionally, all moviemakers who screen their work will be included in the Screeners Club online database with the option of having a streaming video clip and/or CD-Rom version of their work produced.
